The inaugural Ballarat to Melbourne Classic was a by-invitation social bike ride, paying light-hearted homage to the Melbourne to Ballarat Classic, one of Australia’s oldest cycling races that has been running since 1908.
About 28 riders tackled all or part of the 150km route from Ballarat station to Federation Square. We travelled via back roads and bike paths, mostly downhill with a solid tailwind, raising over $600 for Pallister-Killian Syndrome Foundation of Australia.
Many thanks to Greendale Pub for their support and catering
Planning is underway for a bigger and better Ballarat to Melbourne Classic in 2014. Contact Tim Paton, tim.paton@pks.org.au, if you are interested in participating or supporting this ride.
